About Eyeland
The security hub of the Bearlagos has some truths within it.
Eyeland is an island shaped like an eye, where there are many mirrors, visual illusions, and the centerpiece lake – ‘The Eye of Truth’ – which is like a black 8-ball mirror in the shape of an eye pupil. It can detect lies and see right through you, as when you ask a question to it the truth is revealed. However, it plays answers to your questions backward in a type of safety code from others being able to copy the message.
Bears visit The Eye of Truth to ask it questions about their future predictions, hopes, as well as dreams, and it’s meant to be a fun attraction on The Bearlagos. However, underneath The Eye of Truth is much more serious though, and is where the secret security hub of The Bearlagos is located. Visitors have no idea that it exists below the lake and just think Eyeland is an interesting attraction island. Only trusted security bears know where the secret trap doors are to access the security hub.
Unlike most security hubs though, The Bearlagos doesn’t have cameras. It has Catingtons, which are programmed cat-looking robots that navigate the island and track potential Beariminals (although they aren’t found on Darkwood for some reason). Catingtons send recorded images taken through their eyes back to the security hub on Eyeland. Padeski was in charge of Eyeland’s Spy Catington Network before disappearing.
Eyeland also is home to Truelip Flowers which are in the shape of lips and can talk, but they only talk the truth. So the bears can find some interesting truths here but only if the Truelips know answer. They can be found around The Eye of Truth, but are now caged for their protection as at one point everyone wanted to get their hands on a Truelip due to their magic-like properties.
FUN FACT: When you take a photo on Eyeland it automatically adds a magic eye circle-like watermark around it.
Eyeland Backstory:
Long before Eyeland was created there was underwater Truelip coral in Eyeland’s location. It is thought this was the reason why Pensa, who developed Eyeland with Padeski, chose to place it here. Truelip was a rare plant on The Bearlagos but also potentially a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands. To keep it protected Eyeland was built around it, but the security hub likely enhanced its power in helping them with lie detector tests when questioning potential criminals.
Eyeland wasn’t the only location of Truelip though, and during the Truelip rush many bears tried to get their hands on it, but through the rush it was used up so fast and almost became extinct. It’s hard to say whether any other Truelip still exists in other places, but little, if any, has been seen recently, and it’s only on Eyeland that you seem to find any and that is now protected in special cages.
Truelip seems to work in tangent with The Eye Of Truth though as it appears that The Eye Of Truth has taken in most of the surrounding Truelips truism powers, and today The Eye Of Truth is the hub for true-telling. At one point in the past every bear seemed to know whether any other bear was telling the truth, so no bears dared lie, but with less and less Trulips left it seems like more suspicion is building around The Bearlagos.
Knowing that Eyeland is possibly the last source of Trulip, and due to ‘The Event’ threatening the safety of The Bearlagos, it is arguably why Eyeland was made into such an ultra-secure, bear-made island. The aim of Eyeland today is more about keeping The Bearlago inhabitants safe, despite the fun Eye Of Truth attraction, with the ‘Eye’ shape is meant to represent the eye watching over the bears.
It seemed to be working for a long time, however, since Padeski disappeared some question the security and safety of The Bearlagos, and some even think Padeski defected to Darkwood and is now helping Dr. Grizz in his secret ambitions, with the Spy Catington Network now possibly having allegiance to Darkwood.
